The International Journal of Engineering Science And Application (IJESA) seeks to stimulate and publicize knowledge of the various topics of engineering technologies. The journal targets to present to the international community important results of work in the fields of engineering such as imagining, researching, planning, creating, testing, improving, implementing, using and asking. The journal also aims to help engineers, researchers, scientists, manufacturers, universities, institutions, industries, world agencies, societies, etc. to keep up with new developments in theory and applications and to provide alternative solutions to current engineering issues.


The International Journal of Engineering Science and Application is a free of charge and quarterly published journal operating an online submission and peer review system. It allows authors to submit articles online and track their progress via its web interface. The journal aims for a publication speed of 60 days from submission until final publication.

The International Journal of Engineering Science and Application  operates an online submission and peer review system that allows authors to submit articles online and track their progress via a web interface. The International Journal of Engineering Science and Application  is published four times per year.

Author Guide to Add ORCID ID to Your Papers
IJESA is going to accept your submissions only if they were written in its own template. You can download this template from HERE. In our new paper template, ORCID IDs must be added in your papers for all of the authors. In Figure 1, you can see newly added ORCID ID icons next to author names.

You need to add your ORCID ID as a hyperlink that’s attached to given ORCID ID icon. If you want to add ORCID ID for any author, you can copy this icon and paste it next to any authors name.

To add your own ORCID ID please follow the instructions below.
1) Left click to the ORCID ID icon. After you left click it, you’ll see it as given below.

Ethic Responsibilities

The publication of an article in peer-reviewedInternational Journal of Engineering Science and Applicationis an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behaviour for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society of society-owned or sponsored journals.

All authors are requested to disclose any actual or potential conflict of interest including any financial, personal or other relationships with other people or organizations within three years of beginning the submitted work that could inappropriately influence, or be perceived to influence, their work.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. The submission should be approved by all authors and tacitly or explicitly by the responsible authorities where the work was carried out, and that, if accepted, it will not be published elsewhere in the same form, in English or in any other language, including electronically without the written consent of the copyright-holder.

Upon acceptance of an article, authors will be asked to complete a “Copyright Form”. Acceptance of the agreement will ensure the widest possible dissemination of information. An e-mail will be sent to the corresponding author confirming receipt of the manuscript together with a “Copyright Form” form or a link to the online version of this agreement.


Author Rights

As a journal author, you retain rights for a large number of author uses, including use by your employing institute or company. These rights are retained and permitted without the need to obtain specific permission from International Journal of Engineering Science and Application. These include:

v The right to make copies (print or electronic) of the journal article for your own personal use, including for your own classroom teaching use;

v The right to make copies and distribute copies (including via e-mail) of the journal article to research colleagues, for personal use by such colleagues for scholarly purposes;

v The right to post a pre-print version of the journal article on Internet web sites including electronic pre-print servers, and to retain indefinitely such version on such servers or sites for scholarly purposes

v The right to post a revised personal version of the text of the final journal article on your personal or institutional web site or server for scholarly purposes

v The right to use the journal article or any part thereof in a printed compilation of your works, such as collected writings or lecture notes .

 

Article Style

Authors must strictly follow the guide for authors, or their articles may be rejected without review. Editors reserve the right to adjust the style to certain standards of uniformity. Follow Title, Authors, Affiliations, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Theory/Calculation, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, References order when typing articles. The corresponding author should be identified with an asterisk and footnote. Collate acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article and do not include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise.

 

Abstract and Keywords:

Enter an abstract of up to 250 words for all articles. This is a concise summary of the whole paper, not just the conclusions, and is understandable without reference to the rest of the paper. It should contain no citation to other published work. Include up to six keywords that describe your paper for indexing purposes.

 

Abbreviations and Acronyms:

Define abbreviations and acronyms the first time they are used in the text, even if they have been defined in the abstract. Abbreviations such as IEEE, SI, MKS, CGS, sc, dc, and rms do not have to be defined. Do not use abbreviations in the title unless they are unavoidable.

 

Text Layout for Peer Review:

Use single column layout, double spacing and wide (3 cm) margins on white paper at the peer review stage. Ensure that each new paragraph is clearly indicated. Present tables and figure legends in the text where they are related and cited. Number all pages consecutively; use 12 pt font size and standard fonts; Times New Roman, Helvetica, or Courier is preferred.

Research Papers should not exceed 20 printed pages in two-column publishing format, including figures and tables.

Technical Notes and Letters should not exceed 2,000 words.

Reviews should not exceed 20 printed pages in two-column publishing format, including figures and tables.

 

Equations:

Number equations consecutively with equation numbers in parentheses flush with the right margin, as in (1). To make equations more compact, you may use the solidus ( / ), the exp function, or appropriate exponents. Italicize Roman symbols for quantities and variables, but not Greek symbols. Use an dash (–) rather than a hyphen for a minus sign. Use parentheses to avoid ambiguities in denominators. Punctuate equations with commas or periods when they are part of a sentence, as in

Symbols in your equation should be defined before the equation appears or immediately following. Use “Eq. (1)” or “equation (1),” while citing.

 

Figures and Tables:

All illustrations must be supplied at the correct resolution:

    * Black and white and colour photos - 300 dpi

    * Graphs, drawings, etc - 800 dpi preferred; 600 dpi minimum

    * Combinations of photos and drawings (black and white and color) - 500 dpi

 

Table captions should be written in the same format as figure captions; for example, “Table 1. Appearance styles.”. Tables should be referenced in the text unabbreviated as “Table 1.”

 

References:

Please ensure that every reference cited in the text is also present in the reference list (and viceversa). Any references cited in the abstract must be given in full. Unpublished results and personal communications are not recommended in the reference list, but may be mentioned in the text. Citation of a reference as “in press” implies that the item has been accepted for publication. Number citations consecutively in square brackets [1]. Punctuation follows the bracket [2]. Refer simply to the reference number, as in [3]. Use “Ref. [3]” or Reference [3]” at the beginning of a sentence:  “Reference [3] was …”. Give all authors’ names; use “et al.” if there are six authors or more. For papers published in translated journals, first give the English citation, then the original foreign-language citation.

Text Layout for Accepted Papers:

A4 page margins should be margins: top = 24 mm, bottom = 24 mm, side = 15 mm. Main text should be given in two column. The column width is 87mm (3.425 in). The space between the two columns is 6 mm (0.236 in). Paragraph indentation is 3.5 mm (0.137 in). Follow the type sizes specified in Table. Position figures and tables at the tops and bottoms of columns. Avoid placing them in the middle of columns. Large figures and tables may span across both columns.  Figure captions should be centred below the figures; table captions should be centred above.  Avoid placing figures and tables before their first mention in the text.  Use the abbreviation “Fig. 1,” even at the beginning of a sentence.

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is Microsoft Word document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided with the last visited date.
  4. The text is double-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.

Editors' responsibilities

Publication decisions

The editor is responsible for deciding which of the papers submitted to the journal will be published. The editor will evaluate manuscripts without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy. The decision will be based on the paper’s importance, originality and clarity, and the study’s validity and its relevance to the journal's scope. Current legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism should also be considered.

Confidentiality

The editor and any editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted paper will not be used by the editor or the members of the editorial board for their own research purposes without the author's explicit written consent.

Reviewers' responsibilities

Contribution to editorial decisions The peer-reviewing process assists the editor and the editorial board in making editorial decisions and may also serve the author in improving the paper.

Promptness Any selected referee who feels unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality

Any manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be disclosed to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgment of sources

Reviewers should identify cases in which relevant published work referred to in the paper has not been cited in the reference section. They should point out whether observations or arguments derived from other publications are accompanied by the respective source. Reviewers will notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

Disclosure and conflict of interest

Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions associated with the papers.

Authors' duties

Reporting standards

Authors of original research reports should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behavior and are unacceptable.

Data access and retention

Authors could be asked to provide the raw data of their study together with the paper for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if practicable. In any event, authors should ensure accessibility of such data to other competent professionals for at least ten years after publication (preferably via an institutional or subject-based data repository or other data center), provided that the confidentiality of the participants can be protected and legal rights concerning proprietary data do not preclude their release.

Originality, plagiarism and acknowledgment of sources

Authors will submit only entirely original works, and will appropriately cite or quote the work and/or words of others. Publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work should also be cited. The similarity report should be uploaded in PDF format by using a plagiarism software which determines the similarity rates such as iThenticate/Academic Paradigms, LLC-Check For Plagiarism/Grammarly-Plagiarism Checker. The report must be not exceeded the rate of 20%.


Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication

In general, papers describing essentially the same research should not be published in more than one journal. Submitting the same paper to more than one journal constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable. Manuscripts which have been published as copyrighted material elsewhere cannot be submitted. In addition, manuscripts under review by the journal should not be resubmitted to copyrighted publications. However, by submitting a manuscript, the author(s) retain the rights to the published material. In case of publication they permit the use of their work under a CC-BY license [https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode], which means material subject to Copyright and Similar Rights that is derived from or based upon the Licensed Material and in which the Licensed Material is translated, altered, arranged, transformed, or otherwise modified in a manner requiring permission under the Copyright and Similar Rights held by the Licensor.

Authorship of the paper

Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. The corresponding author ensures that all contributing co-authors and no uninvolved persons are included in the author list. The corresponding author will also verify that all co-authors have approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication.

Disclosure and conflicts of interest

All authors should include a statement disclosing any financial or other substantive conflicts of interest that may be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed.

Fundamental errors in published works

When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and to cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper in form of an erratum.

ETHICS COMMITTEE APPROVAL

ULAKBİM TR DIRECTORY Committee requests that the Ethics Committee Approval be obtained for the researches conducted in all disciplines upon the change it has made in the journal evaluation criteria for the year 2020, that this approval is stated and documented in the article.

Within the scope of TR INDEX Assessment Criteria, for studies that require ethics committee approval, the process of which started in 2020 upon this change in Article 8 (ethics committee name, date and issue number) is included in the method section of the article and also in the first / last part of the article. It is mandatory to take place on the page. Accordingly, in all researches that will be sent to our journal to be published in the next period (1) that are conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using questionnaire, interview, focus group study, observation, experiment, interview techniques; (2) research where humans and animals (including material / data) are used for experimental or other scientific purposes; (3) clinical trials on humans; (4) research on animals and (5) retrospective research in accordance with the law on protection of personal data should include information on the ethical committee in the relevant sections and comply with research and publication ethics. In case presentations to be sent other than research articles (1) it should be stated that the informed consent form has been obtained; (2) obtaining and indicating permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires, photographs belonging to others; and (3) compliance with copyright regulations for the intellectual and artistic works used. Ethics Committee Approval will not be required for review articles.
